Dear Resident,

Here is a quick round up from me and the Longbridge Team

Our Priorities

Anti-social behaviour, shop theft and drugs around the Longbridge retail and South & City College area. Concerns highlighted to local officers and from call data received to WMP with incidents to this locality.

We are experiencing an increase in robbery offences in Longbridge. Recent offences from Mid-October have been around the Rea Valley Route which runs from Arden Road, Frankley to Longbridge Retail Park.

A number of concerns reported of speeding and poor driving across the Longbridge area, There have also been reports of ASB on car parks around The Great Park.

What’s Been Happening?

We have been on early morning and afternoon school patrols at Reaside Academy, Balaam Wood, Colmers Farm Primary and Secondary school to provide a visible presence and engage with parents and children.

Our partnership work is developing as we met with Safeguarding leads at South & City College and conducted a joint visit with a housing officer for Platform Housing. We are motivated to continue to work with our partnerships to provide solutions to anti-social behaviour and supporting members of the community.

We visited an allotment site to offer Crime Prevention advice and hand out some literature and items for the tenants. We toured the site to assess the security measures in place and look for any areas that could be improved.

Alongside our high visibility patrols within our high demand areas, we have conducted reassurance visits to victims of burglaries. We are dedicated to increasing our presence within these areas and identifying those responsible.

We attended another productive patrol with our StreetWatch Group in some very gusty wind and rain!

Good News

We have made 2 arrests in connection with a theft of a £12000 compressor at Longbridge Retail Park, and for also causing £5000 of damage. Officers came across the Suspects in the process of making their escape.
